For youth in foster care, changes in placement can too often mean changes in schools, interrupted coursework, lost records, missed instructional time, and other barriers to academic success. Trent Hill Center’s Education Services Team helps ensure that foster care youths' educational needs remain a priority, even when other parts of a young person’s life are changing.
Our education professionals work alongside youth, caregivers, DSS professionals, schools, and other partners to identify educational needs, address barriers, and promote continuity and progress. Through individualized advocacy and coordination, we help the adults and systems surrounding each young person work together toward a common goal: keeping youth connected to education and moving forward academically.
