Program Manager: Assessment Center

Trent Hill Center seeks to hire a Program Manager for our new Assessment and Placement Competency Center, opening in fall 2025.  The Program Manager will work closely with the Education Coordinator, Mental Health Counselor and Caseworkers to ensure that the program is running smoothly and providing the best care possible. The Program Manager will report to the Clinical Program Director and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program.  

The Assessment and Placement Competency Center serves youth who are newly placed into foster care, have disrupted a foster care placement or do not have a permanent foster care placement.  During a 21 day stay at the Center, each youth will be thoroughly assessed for basic, mental health, education and general well-being needs. The role of the Center is then to analyze the collected information and compile a comprehensive packet of information for SCDSS that will help inform future foster care placements for the youth. The objective is to recommend placements that will be appropriate and meet the needs of the youth and cut down on placement disruptions and the need for youth to move from placement to placement. The Assessment and Placement Competency Center will be residential, serving up to 8 youth at a time.   

General responsibilities of the Program Manager include, but are not limited to: 

·       Overseeing and managing the operations of the Assessment Center 

·       Recruiting and hiring direct care staff for the Center 

·       Training incoming staff on Trent Hill Center policies, procedures, and rules of the program

·       Supervising direct care staff 

·       Scheduling personnel to ensure daily staffing meets requirements  

·       Acting as point of contact for caseworkers and placement team when a child is referred to the Center.

·       Partnering with the Center’s Clinical Program Director to ensure planned daily activities meet the social and development needs of youth participants and Center goals  

·       Overseeing daily activities and schedules 

·       Monitoring Assessment Center budget 

·       Acting as point of contact for any outside vendorsproviding service to the Center 

·       Ensuring the Assessment Center meets required regulations 

·       Ensuring safety of staff and Center participants via trauma-informed management and care practices 

·       Attending weekly case staffing and/or staff meetings.

·       Attending required training, as necessary.

·       Participating in weekly, biweekly, or monthly monitoring calls with funding Agency.

The ideal candidate will have: 

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

·       Experience presenting information/outcomes 

·       Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an aptitude for learning new programs 

·       Strong time management skills 

Standard Responsibilities:  

·       Respect and maintain the confidentiality of youth participating in all Trent Hill Center programs. 

·       Work in partnership with direct care staff to complete duties and fill in for direct care staff if and when needed.  

·       Report to work on time and on a regular basis. 

·       Always conduct oneself in an ethical manner. 

·       Treat participants and other employees with integrity and respect. 

·       Report suspected child abuse and neglect to the Out of Home Abuse and Neglect Unit of SCDSS or to a law enforcement agency in the county where the child resides or is found.

The ideal candidate for the position will have a bachelor's degree in social work or related field and 3+years’ experience working with the foster youth population or youth in another capacity. In lieu of the degree, additional years of working experience will be considered for the right candidate. Salary commensurate with experience.  

The Program Manager is a full-time, salaried position. The work schedule for the Program Manager will fluctuate based on program needs.
