Trent Hill Center seeks to hire a Clinical Program Director for the new Assessment and Placement Competency Center, opening in fall 2025. The Clinical Program Director is responsible for designing and implementing program initiatives, providing supervision to the Program Manager and clinical staff, and ensuring the program provides the highest quality services possible to the youth in our care.
The Assessment and Placement Competency Center serves youth who are newly placed into foster care, have disrupted a foster care placement or do not have a permanent foster care placement. During a 21day stay at the Center, each youth will be thoroughly assessed for basic, mental health, education and general well-being needs. The role of the Center is then to analyze the collected information and compile a comprehensive packet of information for SC DSS that will help inform future foster care placements for the youth. The objective is to recommend placements that will be appropriate and meet the needs of the youth and cut down on placement disruptions and the need for youth to move from placement to placement. The Assessment and Placement Competency Center will be residential, serving up to 8 youth at a time.
General responsibilities of the Clinical Program Director include, but are not limited to:
· Developing policies and procedures
· Designing and implementing clinical programming using a trauma-informed approach
· Ensuring daily activities meet the social anddevelopmental needs of youth participants and Center goals
· Overseeing Assessment Center budget
· Developing and monitoring quality improvementinitiatives
· Ensuring adherence to regulations (licensing,contracting, accreditation)
· Recruiting and hiring clinical staff for the Center
· Providing supervision to Program Manager and allclinical staff
· Facilitating weekly case staffing and/or staffmeetings
· Participating in weekly, biweekly, or monthly monitoring calls with funding agency.
· Providing supportive counseling or crisis intervention when necessary
· Facilitating and/or leading staff trainings focused on mental health
· Evaluating the effectiveness of clinical interventions
· Advocating for individual or community needs
· Developing working relationships with others to facilitate program needs

· Reporting suspected child abuse and neglect to the Out of Home Abuse and Neglect Unit of SCDSS or to a law enforcement agency in the county where the child resides or is found.
The Clinical Program Director is a full-time, salaried position. The work schedule for the Clinical Program Director can fluctuate based on program needs but will typically follow normal business hours.
Education and/or Experience: Must have a master’s degree in social work or counseling and be currently licensed in the state of South Carolina. Candidates should have both clinical and management experience. Experience working with youth in the foster care system is strongly preferred.
